Standard of Service

What is standard? Standard means regularisation. I guess this is something lacking in my country. I got irritated by these non-standard services. These include banking, telecommunication (government), Computer manufacturing, Automotive industry. Ok, here are the stories.

Story 1
I went to bank the other day, trying to use my card for cash deposit, since i wasn't able to transact after missed button, i try to get help from floor, he said, we already blocked the card slotting since customers tend to forgetting the card after transacted. I told him, i was almost done just missed a button. He insist he was right and try to get me my account number, i felt like being slapped because he didn't trust me. So i went to try again, it went through, they couldn't say a thing. Standard, where is standard.

Story 2

I called to Telekom few months ago since got dispute in payment, the supervisor said we charged in advance usually. So fine, since this is your billing system. Few months later, i called again, they told me otherwise, so i asked them what about those i already paid? Is that consider advanced payment or non? They couldn't answer me and it left pending till now. Standard. sigh.

Story 3
I make appointment for car servicing, the third time. The officer charged me with 1.79 for the oil cap. I wonder why is this imposed since i don't get charged for the past two times. Oh this is a standard charge because we need to break the cap each time servicing. He insist me to sign and pay. I asked, if that is a must to charge why other service centre don't? Oh we are different service centre. What? which is which now? Such pretigous car manufacturer doesn't have a standard?

Well, i got really upset when things don't get standardized. I don't mind to pay in advanced, i don't mind to pay for the oil cap, i don't mind if the card slot no longer working, but please standardize what customer should be informed. How to keep up with the trust when services are capricious?

Well, somehow whether you like it or not, end of the day if the government doesn't enforce it, we still have to live with these standard. Sigh.

Tell me does your country provide better service than mine?
